We love creating content. That’s where Zazoom started, entering a crowded market of web producers, looking for the voids and then filling them. With Buzz60 we’ve found a sweet spot where news/information meets entertainment to provide a great web-centric experience for our viewers. Our partners love the deep viewer engagement with the short form content and we love the rapid increase in the size of our audience.
But as anyone in this space knows, for as many new ad dollars that are flowing into web video there’s even more content which has the effect of driving CPMs and fill rates down. For awhile now there’s been a lot of talk around the idea of content producers moving beyond the old school ad revenue model and while some ideas have worked out well, many others have stalled. We’re always working on new ways to build deeper engagement with our viewers and new techniques to increase revenue so what Ben Lerer and his team at Thrillist are doing has caught our eye.
